LRGA Water Market
The LRGA Water Market was an innovative service designed to help resolve water supply needs along the middle and lower Rio Grande. For the first time ever, infomation about available water was readily accessible, streamlining transactions between water sellers and buyers.
Sellers set their own price for their water. Listings were anonymous. An administrative fee was charged by LRGA for handling each transaction, including conducting an approval and verification process. The administrative fee charged was $1.00 per acre-foot up to 250 acre-feet, and $0.50 thereafter, up to a maximum of $750.00 for any single transaction. The minimum fee charged for any transaction was $50.00.
